Mistakes

A wise person once said, “Man learns from his mistakes.” A person who disbelieves it is nothing but a fool. He disregards the reality and listens to surreal ambitions. He tends to waver from his path, leading to his own downfall. “God created man in his own image.” True. Well I don’t think he intended on making a mistake by putting a heart in his best creation. The creation capable of understanding every tiny secrets existing in this planet and is continuously digging up new ones.
Here, I stand perplexed,  trying  to understand what is wrong with humans. Why does he get carried away with emotions? What blocks his judgement? If we were  to personify mistake, it would be a man perky enough to pump life in a corpse and intelligent enough to make the smartest person kick his own ass.
Well look at the irony of life. It is only after you commit a mistake, you realize you were wrong. The sense of judgement comes back to you and you know what was right for you. But the milk has already been spilled. You can’t put it back in the bowl. Even if you did so, it won't be fit to drink. But what you can do is buy another packet of milk.

incredible india....by dev

10th May 1857. India’s first struggle for freedom lasted almost two years. Freedom fighters toiled to see an India independent India. But they were unable to achieve it. Bad luck for Bharat. India finally got independent on 15th august 1947 with the help of some determined and hard working leaders. 15th august was the first day an Indian flag was waved on our soil. Today she is going to become 64.

We have enjoyed 63 years of independence. People have struggled hard to make India a better place after the foreigners ravished our land. Today we are standing here heads held high, on one of the most powerful country, India.

India has touched new heights in every field. May it be telecommunication or sports or entertainment or literature or power generation or space research or economy or atomic research. She has crossed every milestone. India has successfully followed the policy of non alignment. As a result of India’s efforts, the non-alignment movement has become a force in the world affairs. India’s voice now carries weight in international forums. Important laurel won by India recently is the obtaining of the sole right for the exploration of a very large area of the Indian Ocean for its mineral wealth. Similarly, India has established its base in the Antarctica for exploration and research in the difficult region.

But this long list of free India’s achievements should not make us proud. We should not feel satisfied by looking at our achievements. We should keep in mind the problems which are yet to be solved.

Illiteracy continues to haunt the poor section of the society. The lower sections are still deprived of their basic amenities. They still don't receive a proper meal, hardly care for hygiene and probably have ever seen or been to a hospital. Society is turning it back on them. It seems as if no one really cares for them... wake up people. Don’t you think they too have the right to live, to eat, and to smile? To do the same things we do in our lives. Instead the mean politicians are making them their pillars of success and sucking their bloods.

Secondly, I would like to throw light upon the weaker sex. WOMEN. 64 years of independence and the status of women in society is still in paradox. If on one hand she is at the peak of ladder of success, on the other hand she is mutely suffering the violence afflicted on her by her own family members. As compared with past women in modern times have achieved a lot but in reality they have to still travel a long way. Their path is full of roadblocks. The women have left the secured domain of their home and are now in the battlefield of life, fully armored with their talent. They had proven themselves. But in India they are yet to get their dues. The sex ratio of India shows that the Indian society is still prejudiced against female. There are 933 females per thousand males in India according to the census of 2001, which is much below the world average of 990 females. There are many problems which women in India have to go through daily. These problems have become the part and parcel of life of Indian women and some of them have accepted them as their fate.

Adding to the list are- terrorism, corruption, ethnic division and infrastructural problems. However with faith in our leaders and our capacity for works, we are sure to overcome our present difficulties. The present difficulties should not discourage us. Free India is destined to become a powerful nation of the world. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru at midnight of 14th august 1947 said

"At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom. A moment comes, which comes but rarely in history, when we step out from the old to the new, when an age ends, and when the soul of a nation, long suppressed, finds utterance..... We end today a period of ill fortune, and India discovers herself again."

Let’s make India a better place to live. After all we call it incredible India. Vande Mataram.
